01 / The project

Compare the work behind the finish.

A useful coating proposal covers the condition of the existing slab, preparation, each coating layer and return-to-use instructions. Surface coating is separate from structural repair or slab replacement; have concerns assessed before choosing products.

Use the guides to compare written proposals, or start with the project form above.

04 / Project questions

Five questions before you book.

What does a garage-floor coating cost?

Published prices depend on the provider, area, preparation and specified system. Start with the attributed cost examples, then compare the same measured area and mark any unpriced work as unresolved.

Can an old concrete floor be coated?

Age alone does not answer the question. Ask for an assessment of the existing finish, damage, contamination and moisture before the installer specifies a system. Record the proposed repairs and exclusions in the quote worksheet.

Does “one day” mean I can park that evening?

Ask whether it describes installation or return to use. Get separate walking, storage and vehicle-return instructions for the actual system and conditions. The timing checklist explains why a light-traffic category is not a parking release.

Can a coating be installed in an unheated garage?

The proposed products determine the limits. Have the installer measure air and slab conditions and explain when work must wait. Read the unheated-garage questions.

What should I include in my project details?

Include the garage size, existing finish or damage, and when you need to use the space. Start with the project form and read how information is handled.
